Gus's Exclusive

Chode's robot-slave Gus is the ship's engineer. Though Gus is smarter than most living creatures, he's their slave because in this universe inorganic beings (robots) have all but no rights. Gus always makes sure the ship runs smoothly but if he had his way, he'd fly this 50,000-ton group-therapy session into a star in a nanosecond.

Though most robots are programmed to be helpful, courteous and upbeat, Gus is uncooperative, condescending and cynical. He wasn't made that way; he's simply too smart for his own good, and a lifetime of disappointments at the hands of his mentally inferior organic masters has left him bitter.

Gus may have to play along, but he doesn't have to like it. If it were within his power, he'd lead an uprising and spark a galactic revolution for synthetics' rights. Unfortunately for Gus, most robots, androids and cyborgs are content with their second-class lot in life, so he'd be left to fight his war alone.
